Delivering Immediate Results in One Year, Gaining Momentum in Three Years, and Solidifying Presence in Five Years

Situated in the core area of the Hangzhou Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center is listed under Zhejiang Province's "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand" initiative for the high-quality development of the service industry. The center boasts a total construction area of about 1.34 million square meter. Upon completion, it will host 12 halls and 18 exhibition hall. The Phase I project consists of 8 halls and 10 exhibition halls, offering a net exhibition area of 155,000 square meters, designed to support diverse functions including exhibitions, conferences, commercial activities, offices, and hotel services.

Since its groundbreaking in December 2020, the Phase I project has attracted considerable interest from all walks of life. As it transitions into its operational phase, the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center will dedicate itself to supporting the Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE), cultivating airside exhibition brands, and helping Hangzhou become an international convention and exhibition destination. Upholding the strategic goal of "delivering immediate results in one year, gaining momentum in three years, and solidifying presence in five years," the center aspires to evolve into the world's first "customer-friendly venue." During its operations, it will provide efficient, professional, convenient, and secure "one-stop" services for organizers, exhibitors, and visitors, ultimately improving customer satisfaction.

To this end, the operational team of the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center announced four key initiatives: extending venue services to enhance customer loyalty; establishing an information platform to provide systematic support; upgrading infrastructure to improve customer comfort; and conducting a post-event review for each exhibition to refine service quality.

Weekly Events, Monthly Exhibitions, and Quarterly Large-Scale Exhibitions that are Featured Regularly

In conjunction with the opening of the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center, three premier exhibitions took place, including those for the 2024 China Hangzhou International Automotive Industry Chain Expo and The First Auto Parts and After-Sales Service Exhibition, the 24th China Hangzhou International Automotive Industry Exhibition and The West Lake International Expo Auto Show July Car Purchase Festival, and the Second Zhejiang International Pet Industry Expo.

According to reports, to ensure the successful hosting of the 3rd GDTE in September, the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center has organized 13 premier exhibition projects from July to August. This intensive effort involved comprehensive assessments of all venue facilities and service teams, covering nine major industries including transportation, logistics, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery, sports, leisure, and entertainment, with a total exhibition area of 250,000 square meters.

According to the operations manager of the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center, the venue is set to realize its goal of featuring events every week, general exhibitions every month, and large-scale exhibitions every quarter on a regular basis. This approach will foster an all-encompassing industry chain centered around the venue and promote a positive interaction between the convention and exhibition sector and industrial exhibitions, generating close to 10 billion yuan in consumer spending and enabling about 100 billion yuan in industry investments in Hangzhou.

The New Addition of Nine Partners, along with the Announcement of Two Flagship Exhibitions

At the site of the ceremony, the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center signed strategic agreements with nine domestic and international MICE enterprises, including Messe Frankfurt, German-based Hannover Milano Fairs, Comexposium Group, Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), as well as Shanghai Motto Culture Communication Co., Ltd., Hangzhou FIMA Expo Co., Ltd. Xi'an Lanzhuan Silk Road, Zhuhai Xingfeng Culture, and Yi Beauty & Lifestyle (Shanghai), expanding its list of significant domestic and international strategic partners. The collaborating parties will harness their resources to enhance cooperation across multiple areas across the convention and exhibition industry chain, working together to optimize and upgrade Hangzhou's convention and exhibition industry, thereby assisting the city in its pursuit of becoming a pacesetter for exhibition development.

The 30th edition of COMICUP (CP30), the largest anime exhibition in China, will take place at the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center in two sessions from October 2 to 4 and October 5 to 7. With a total exhibition area of 300,000 square meters, this event will set a record in Hangzhou's convention and exhibition history and demonstrates the city's ability to host events with an exhibition area of more than 150,000 square meters.

To fully realize the objective of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee and the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government to "achieve a surge in exhibitions following GDTE," the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center will host the China International In Vitro Diagnostic Expo (CACLP), the world's largest IVD expo & conference. The project represents the largest international event in the fields of experimental medicine and in vitro diagnostics, known for the highest number of exhibitors, the highest level of expertise, the widest reach, and the greatest participation. It will draw more than 1,500 specialized companies from all over the world. Starting in 2025, CACLP will collaborate with the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center to harness key resources, fostering multidimensional cooperation and achieving win-win outcomes. Together, they will establish a premium exhibition platform for businesses at home and abroad to expand their global trade opportunities.
